This weeks free paper piecing pattern is the Mercury. As in Freddie Mercury, one of the greatest frontmen of all time.
Like a couple of the previous blocks this one will look different depending on where you decide to add color.
There are inset triangles that I didn’t use, but you certainly could (second color play).
Queen is one of my favorite bands and has been ever since Wayne & Garth introduced me to Bohemian Rhapsody. Of course, I had heard Queen songs way before then but that’s when I fell in love.
If I’m near a jukebox and they have this song, you can bet I’ll be playing it.

Best Friend is the closest thing Paul and I have to “our song”. ❤

My husband has a tattoo that includes a line of music notes. The notes are from a verse in “I Want to Break Free”.

Okay, okay, I’ll stop! Rather than completely bombard you with a hundred Queen songs, just go play some!
Due to changes within Craftsy, I am moving the patterns to Etsy.
Buy the entire series of 12 blocks for $5 or each block for $1.Download HERE
Feel free to share within sewing groups if you use this pattern as your Bee block!
It does NOT need to be purchased multiple times. Same with the series purchase.

I have really loved seeing the blocks in your series. This one is great. I love Queen and Freddie. It’s hard for me to listen to “You’re My Best Friend” because that was mine and my dog’s song. I had to put him to sleep in January. I just watched the video and cried a little.

Okay, so I’m pretty new to PP but the few I’ve done only have 4 seam at the center…generally, I press seam open when quilting and bulk does not build up, but PP is different. HOW ON EARTH do you get that many seams together without it looking lie you sewed a rock into the pattern? I really love your stuff Julie!
