Recently I made a large Tree Skirt and had several people on Instagram ask for some info, so I decided to write up a quick tutorial.
This large Carpenter Star comes together quickly and would make a super cute baby quilt as well.
Throw on a border or two to make it throw size.
For the Tree Skirt – here is how I cut the corners, center and skirt line.
Be sure to use a bias binding – at least around the center hole and leave 1/4″ for those points when cutting!
The pattern also includes a coloring page.
Would love to see your version if you make one! Instagram hashtag #627carpenterstar

Can you tell me if I quilt it and then cut the opening and hole, or if I am supposed to cut it first and then cut it open?

It looks like a fabric shop has taken your free pattern and made it for sale.

I was looking to see which squares were the smaller 6 inch squares? I downloaded the patter but I did not see a distinction

I have a question about this tree skirt pattern. Do you layer/quilt it before you cut the line & center?
