Better late than never! I will be participating in Plum & June’s Let’s Get Acquainted New Blogger Blog Hop this summer. I have some catching up to do since I’m joining late, but I’m really excited to find some new blogs to follow. Can never get enough quilty inspiration.
Check out some of these bloggers – they are amazing!
Are you having a good weekend? I am – our deck is almost done! Thank goodness.
Now onto the good stuff… here is the Garfunkel block.
There is a variation to this block. You can make the center hexagon solid or like this:
The template has the optional area marked. If you choose to make the first variation be sure your fabric covers the entire center piece (both 8 and 8b).
I looove Paul Simon! As soon as I made this block the name Garfunkel just fit. My musical tastes are all over the board. Maybe it’s because I grew up listening to their music that makes me love them so much?
Feel free to share within sewing groups if you use this pattern as your Bee block! It does NOT need to be purchased multiple times. Same with the series purchase.
Hope you enjoy this one. I’ll be posting a picture of the block I made shortly!
I hate to admit this, but this week has been a sewing bust. We are working on a deck so my free time has been sucked up “supervising” (ok, watching) and I haven’t touched a needle or thread. Very disappointing for me.
AND I realized Block Rock’n was last Friday… for some reason I thought it was THIS Friday. So, I’ll definitely be releasing a new paper piecing template this week.
Found out this evening I’ll be joining in Plum & June’s blog hop! Can’t wait to visit all the blogs and get some new inspiration.
Since I’ve been such a dud this week I’d really love to see what you have.

is posted over at Moda Bake Shop! Yay! I can’t tell you just how excited this makes me. Some of my first quilts were Bake Shop patterns and I have a couple on my to-make list. This is my first project at the Bake Shop and I hope it’s not my last.
Block Rock’n
It’s been so much fun seeing some of my Block Rock’n designs out there. Here are a few:
Hello, welcome to Thursday Threads! Here is the quilt I’ve been working on quilting. I call it ‘Triple Twist’.
Hopefully I’ll get it finished up in the next week or two and I’ll put up a tutorial. It’s made using a layer cake and about a yard of fabric. I really like the texture on the front!
Does anyone else have a fabric stash they can’t seem to organize? I have a dresser full of fabric that looks like this:
What am I thinking? Of course you do. It’s a little scary and out of control!
So what are you working on?

I can’t believe it’s already week 7 of Block Rock’n! This one is the “Morrison”.
You can decide if it’s named after Jim or Van. I’m fans of both, so it’s good either way!
This is my probably my favorite Doors song because it has some great memories associated with it. When I was 16 my brother used to ride to school with me and we loved listening to People are Strange.
