Green Envy

by Julie Hirt

These dangle earrings are my favorite style to make. I bought a pair in Venezuela on Margarita Island that were made with blue beads. I stole the style and have made several pairs with different beads. I put one bead on the bottom chain and then 2 beads on every other chain. You can keep going up the chain to make these as long as you’d like. Easy to make and the look totally changes just on the beads you use.

Amber is the Color of your Energy

by Julie Hirt

These are one of my favorite pairs of earrings that I’ve made. 2 large amber colored beads that have been wire wrapped. This was the first pair that I made the posts with twisted wire as well. It’s really important to file the ends or they will bite your ears.

Drinks on Me

by Julie Hirt

This style of necklace is my favorite to make. I love BOURBON and used an antique pewter bourbon decanter label to make my first necklace. I’ve made several of these now with Vodka, Scotch, Gin and Rum for friends.

I’ve only used to style of label pictured although there are several companies that made the decanter labels and new versions as well. I typically use 2 different types of chains and connect the actual decanter chain on one side. It will only go about halfway up and creates a pretty cool look.

Jewelry & Beaded Bookmark Pics Loaded

by Julie Hirt

I wanted to get some pictures on flickr of the earrings, necklaces and beaded bookmarks I made last winter.  The beaded bookmarks also work great as wine bottle charms (think: gift) or just to dangle around lamps, doorknobs and anywhere else that needs sparkle.

I haven’t worked with my wire or beads for a while, probably something I’ll dig up in a few months and get active with again.
