I’m wrapping up this Free Paper Piecing series with the “Floyd”.
I don’t think it’s necessary to explain why Pink Floyd was chosen for the final tribute in the Block Rock’n series.
This is my favorite song of all time. It has been my favorite since the first time I heard it when I was a teenager. The older I get, the more sense it makes too.
Best. Lyrics. Ever.

And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it’s sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you’re older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death
And another favorite (more genius lyrics):

We’re just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl
Year after year
Running over the same old ground
What have we found
The same old fears
Wish you were here
And ANOTHER fave. Crikey, one more. Okay, okay, I’ll stop!
Back to the block. This block would also look good with less color choices:
To be honest, I haven’t had time to make this block yet. It’s pretty straight forward but please let me know if you run into any issues. I do plan on stitching it up this weekend!
Due to changes within Craftsy, I am moving the patterns to Etsy.
Buy the entire series of 12 blocks for $5 or each block for $1.Download HERE
Feel free to share within sewing groups if you use this pattern as your Bee block!
It does NOT need to be purchased multiple times. Same with the series purchase.
I would love to see your block if you make one. Feel free to:
- Post in the Flickr group
- Instagram hashtag #blockrockn or
- Twitter hashtag #blockrockn

Ummmmmm Pink Floyd’s “Wish you were here” definitely made it onto more than one mixed CD I made for my husband when we were just a couple of high schoolers in love

Another great block and great tribute, Julie. This block reminds me of time. It looks like a clock and a sun. And a mariner’s compass, too. Congrats on finishing up sew beautifully!

You are going out with a bang… but please don’t go. There are so many more great songs/bands that NEED a tribute.

This may be a stupid question but if I just enlarge the pieces will it work for a bigger block or will that mess it up?
