It’s Grumpy Cat! I think he’s upset the background is purple. hehe
The second I saw the pattern on Instagram, I bought it. You can find the ‘Grouchy Cat’ paper piecing pattern here or here. Sew What Sherlock is a mad genius with this!
My cat has a teensy little mistake by his eye, but we’ll just ignore that. This is the 18″ version and I added a 2″ border so I could make a pillow cover.
I’ve never paper pieced with such large pieces before, so it was a little interesting getting the angles for the fabric right.
This morning I turned my Scrap Medley blocks into a pillow cover. You can purchase the pattern from my Craftsy store for a buck.
I’m determined to make 2014 a year of finishes for all of my WIP.
………. and I just got sidetracked for an hour looking at Grumpy Cat meme’s.
I don’t have a cat but I do have three dogs. One of them really wanted in the pillow pics.
If you make a Grumpy Cat I must see it!

Oh the angles on big MPP pieces make me CRAZY. I use comically large pieces to get it right.

OMG it’s fantastic looks just like grumpy cat! I love it might have to give it a go ! Will have to think of a grumpy friend or relo to give it too. Ha Ha !
I have been participating in the paper piecing Doctor Who along from Trilliam design and Soma has a great little tutorial on how to do your angled pieces so as not to waste fabric.
